VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

ALTAR GUILD: Jean Ristow

  • Assist with the preparation of the bread and wine used for the Lord’s Supper at worship services

ARTIST SERIES: Leesa Carls
  • Assist with the Artist Series
  • Volunteer to serve at art-related activities or events

CHURCH PROPERTIES: Donnie Rooksberry
  • Assist with maintenance or improvement projects
  • Help maintain the Memorial Garden
  • Volunteer to assist with set-up and take-down for events and activities

EDUCATION: Jacquielynn Wolff
  • Assist with English as a Second Language
  • Provide guidance on educational workshops and Bible Studies
  • Coordinate children’s activities such as the Splash Class

END OF LIFE MINISTRY: See Stephen Ministry
  • Provide spiritual care to individuals and families as they near end of life
  • Help plan Celebration of Life services
  • Provide family support following the death of a loved one

FELLOWSHIP: Jean Ristow
  • Help to plan congregational fellowship opportunities and events

FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION: Paul Gremel
  • Help plan the financial direction of Marco Lutheran Church
  • Participate in Financial Review
  • Prepare and maintain Policies and Procedures
  • Serve as a money counter
  • Serve as Treasurer or Financial Secretary

FOUNDATION: Dennis Hess
  • Volunteer to assist with Foundation projects and events
  • Participate on the Foundation Board to set overall Foundation guidelines
  • Serve on the Grants Committee coordinating Foundation grants

HUMAN CARE: Sue Keller
  • Volunteer to assist with the Monthly Day Out Club
  • Help serve with Laces of Love, Undy Sundy, etc.
  • Make Love Meals for those in need of a home-cooked meal
  • Sign up for a Sunday to arrange altar flowers, after church, to small bouquets for our sick and homebound members

LAY MINISTRY: Karl Ristow
  • Responsible for all facets of the worship services to assist the Senior Pastor
  • Volunteer to serve as Lay Ministers, Worship Leaders, Communion Hosts, Communion Assistants, Ushers, Readers, Greeters, Transporters, Acolytes, and Crucifers

MUSIC/CHOIR: Craig Greusel
  • Sing in the Choir
  • Assist with church performances such as The Last Supper, etc.
  • Help with other music-related events

OFFICE ASSISTANCE: Betsy Francis
  • Assist in the church office, with special mailings and bulletins

OUTREACH: Dave Tobiasz
  • Participate in outreach activities such as Farmer’s Market, Family Fun Day, Christmas Parade, etc.
  • Greet visitors at the Welcome Center
  • Identify community outreach opportunities for the congregation
  • Assist with advertising and publicity

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY: Sue Keller
  • Knit or crochet Prayer Shawls, Love Blankets, Hope Totes, and Serenity Scarves

SMALL GROUP MINISTRY: Dave Tobiasz
  • Serve others in need at St. Matthew’s House, Habitat for Humanity, Grace Place, etc.
  • Help plan Lighthouse Harbor activities
  • Start your own special interest small group

STEPHEN MINISTRY: Pete & Kitty Grund
  • Provide Stephen Ministry Services as we care for others in need
  • Visit the homebound for friendship and communion

STEWARDSHIP: Gail Hoopes
  • Coordinate stewardship communications to the congregation
  • Compile Time and Talent Survey and share information with the Boards
  • Assist with special fund drives as requested

WOMEN OF MARCO: Cea Horton
  • Plan and coordinate faith-related events such as the Christmas Luncheon
  • Coordinate the decorating of the church for holidays
  • Plan and organize the annual rummage sale
