These two boards work closely together to support the church congregation and the community-at-large. In addition to several holiday events, a Time of Remembrance, and a renewal of vows event, the groups have run a campaign to support Laces of Love.
Mark your calendars for the following special events. Be sure to check back regularly. As new details are available, we’ll provide them here.

Laces of Love
This local charity is dedicated to providing sneakers to low-income and disadvantaged children need. According to Jeanne Nealon, president and co-founder of Laces of Love, “A simple gift, shoes, carries dignity, confidence, and pure joy every child deserves.” Marco Lutheran has supported this charity for 11 years, touching many lives. This year, we donated 142 pairs of sneakers and over $6,400 to make a difference in the lives of children at Tommy Barfield, Manatee Elementary, and even Lely High School, among other outlets.

Shine Like Stars
This Christmas season, the Marco Lutheran family “adopted” 15 local families through Lutheran Social Services. The congregation provided Christmas gifts and food for the families’ Christmas celebrations.

We were able to help other families as well with a donation of almost $5,000 to Lutheran Social Services.
Time of Remembrance
The holidays are often difficult for those who have lost a loved one. More than 40 saints were remembered at a service on Friday, December 12. The service was followed by a reception to offer support to all in attendance.
