John Roth, D.Min., M.Div. serves as the Coordinator for Adjunct Faculty at Florida Gulf Coast University, where he has also taught as an adjunct professor since 2015. During his time at FGCU, he has taught courses in religion, biblical studies, theology, and church history, including the upper-level course “Apocalyptic America and the Book of Revelation,” which explores the history, interpretation, and cultural impact of Revelation in American religious life.
In addition to his academic work, John has devoted much of his life to campus and congregational ministry. He has served in pastoral and campus ministry roles at Louisiana State University (LSU), the University of Florida (UF), and Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), helping students navigate the intersection of faith, vocation, and public life. He currently serves as President of United Campus Ministries at FGCU, supporting Christian ministry and collaboration among faith communities on campus.
John is also the Pastor of Thrive Community Church in Estero, Florida, where he focuses on biblical preaching, discipleship, and fostering thoughtful Christian engagement with contemporary issues. His teaching and ministry emphasize reading Scripture in its historical and literary context while applying its message faithfully to the challenges of modern life.
He holds both the Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) and Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degrees and is a frequent speaker on topics related to biblical interpretation, the Book of Revelation, Christian theology, and the relationship between faith, culture, and public life.
